Statement zur Massenaktion zivilen Ungehorsams am 24. Juli 2025 in Berlin und zur Polizeigewalt/ Statement on the Mass Civil Disobedience Rally of July 24, 2025, in Berlin and on the Police Brutality

On July 24, 2025, a mass civil disobedience action was taking place at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, directly in front of the UN World Food Programme (WFP) office. The protest responded to Gaza’s urgent call for international disruption to end Israel’s genocidal war and forced starvation campaign against the Palestinian people. It was also a protest against Germany's active complicity in Israel’s ongoing genocide and occupation of Palestine.

Between 1,500 and 2,000 protestors peacefully took over the streets. With chants, banners, and the banging of pots and pans, they demanded an immediate end to the genocidal bombardment and siege of Gaza, the apartheid and occupation of Palestine, and Germany's financial, military, and political support for Israel’s colonial project.

This civil disobedience action was a powerful and direct response to Germany’s 21-month-long refusal to uphold international law and its duty to prevent genocide. The protesters demonstrated unbreakable unity and determination. The mobilization was powerful and clear in its message:  The genocide must end. Those responsible must be held accountable. Palestine will be free.
